FeTERA reports that on August 15, the National Elections of our Federation of Energy Workers were held in order to elect the new board of directors that will lead the organization for the 2019-2023 period.
Around 66% of the electoral roll voted in the 55 tables enabled for such purpose in 11 provinces of our country.
The Blue and White List (Lista Azul y Blanca), headed by José Rigane and Julio Acosta, accounted for 96% of the votes cast and was thus elected as the National Conduction for the next 4 years.
It should be noted that the elections were held with absolute normality and within the framework of Freedom and Trade Union Democracy which have been non-negotiable values of our Organization.
We continue our demand for the government to grant Trade Union Status to FeTERA as it has been stated by several resolutions issued by the ILO and national justice rulings that the government has ignored time and again, thus discriminating against FeTERA and violating the National Constitution.
